Bloomberg: Next talks on Ukrainian peace plan may take place in India ahead of G20 summit

The next round of peace talks between world leaders on Ukraine's 10-point peace formula, supported by many Western allies, may take place in September within the framework of the G20 summit in India, Bloomberg reported on Aug. 6, citing an unnamed French diplomat.

According to Bloomberg, the diplomat said this shortly after the two-day summit between international partners on the implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, ended on the same day with the participation of officials from about 40 countries, except Russia.

He also added that almost every country of the Global South, which includes India, Indonesia, China, Nigeria, and Mexico did not demand Russia's presence at the next negotiations of Ukraine’s peace plan.

However, Brazil’s chief presidential adviser, Celso Amorim, who headed the country's delegation in Jeddah, opposed this idea.

“Although Ukraine is the biggest victim, if we really want peace, we have to involve Moscow in this process somehow,” Amorim said.

According to him, any “real negotiation must include all parties.”
