Bloomfield girls oust Lighthouse in sectional opener
BLOOMFIELD — Bloomfield took charge from the get-go in search of a third straight sectional title, leading Lighthouse Christian by 32 at halftime and cruising to a 71-32 win on Wednesday in the opening round of the Class 1A Bloomfield girls'; basketball sectional.
The Cards (11-14) took a 15-4 lead after one period and expanded it to 43-11 at the break to earn a spot in the semifinals on Friday at 7:30 p.m. vs. Clay City (7-17), which knocked off White River Valley, 48-47. North Central (18-5) takes on Dugger Union (8-15) at 6.
Abagail Rousey had 18 points to pace LCA (8-16) while Jaeden Mictus had 16, Brianna Bucher 15 and Delaney Richardson 12 for Bloomfield.
