Weekend plans?

For Lily Sullivan and Serge Kalinovsky, accomplished string-players who live in Bloomington, that’s rarely a question.

Lily plays the violin. Serge plays the cello. Most Saturdays they’re on their way to Chicago, where they meet Noah Kim, a pianist, and on Saturday and Sunday all three are making music as The Goya Piano Trio.

Lily, Serge, and Noah are weekend students at the Music Institute of Chicago, a training center for advanced pre-college musicians.

Lily and Serge are former students at Bloomington High School North who now do their high school work online. Serge said he is planning to continue studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
