Bloomington restaurants we wish could have made the USA Today list

Having a Bloomington restaurant included in the USA Today Restaurants of the Year list is a great way to let people know about one of the community's best dining establishments, but our community is brimming with hospitality.

Restaurant of the Year: The Elm is one of the best restaurants in the U.S. What to know before you go

Several local restaurants consistently provide delicious food and stellar service, and we think they should be on your shortlist the next time you dine out. There are more than 300 restaurants in Bloomington, so there's no way we could highlight every establishment, but here are a handful we wish could have made the list.

C3 - Crafted Cocktails and Cuisine: A Renwick neighborhood bar and restaurant

C3 restaurant and bar offers crafted cocktails and delicious cuisine at 1505 S. Piazza Drive in Renwick Village Center. The seasonal fare is created with local products to make mouthwatering appetizers, main dishes and desserts. Enjoy a cocktail, wine or craft beer in the lounge, schedule a party in a semi-private dining area or in the warmer months, dine alfresco on the patio area.

Truffles and 56° Bar: Regular wine pairing events throughout the year

Truffles restaurant and 56° Bar provide an intimate space for fine dining and enjoying wine and spirits. The restaurant hosts wine events throughout the year, with each providing dishes expertly crafted to enhance the experience. The restaurant at 1131 S. College Mall Road offers starters, salads, entrees and desserts from the classic to international.

Marco and Polo: Personal service, cultural exposure in a beautiful setting

A new addition to Bloomington's culinary scene is Marco and Polo at 209 S. Grant St. Marco and Polo offers Central Eurasian cuisine via delicious meals, hot herbal tea and coffee alongside a dose of knowledge about their culture as Uyghur people. Try some Himalayan vegetable kebabs, a bowl of beef noodle soup or an herbal tea brewed in a glass pot where a flower arrangement blossoms as the hot water opens the flower/tea blend.
