Bloomington Youth Basketball Season III coaching

The Bloomington Youth Basketball (BYB) League focuses on basketball fundamentals and the application of learned skills during game participation for players in grades K-6. All leagues are coed through Grade 3; girls play in a girls-only league beginning in Grade 4. Boys and girls play in separate leagues in Grades 7 and 8. The season includes weekly practices and games on one night a week. Teams practice two nights a week for the first two weeks of the season, then one night a week for the remainder of the season. The season runs Jan. 16–March 9, practices begin the week of Jan. 16, and games begin the week of Jan. 23. Prospective coaches must sign up by Dec. 29. Selected coaches must attend a mandatory Coaches Meeting and Coach Draft on Jan. 4 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Twin Lakes Recreation Center. All selected coaches must complete an annual online coaching certification course from the National Youth Sports Coaches Association. The certification fee for each coach is $20.  All coaches are required to undergo a background check and can save time by downloading/completing the Background Check Authorization form prior to Coaches Meeting.
