Just in time for summer, get ready to scream and scoop into some ice cream that fizzles with 23 flavors.

The new Blue Bell ice cream flavor combines vanilla and Dr Pepper-flavored sherbert to create the Dr Pepper Float, according to a press release sent Thursday morning. You can expect the new flavor to hit store shelves in pint and half-gallon sizes starting on Thursday and will stick around through 2024.

Blue Bell gave a not-so-subtle hint that the new ice cream flavor was coming after tweeting out a video of someone cracking open an ice-cold Dr Pepper that said "The sound of 23 flavors" with a hashtag that said "newflavor."

Both companies, which started and have headquarters in Texas, are known staples throughout the state. Additionally, Dr Pepper's teamed up with Texas icons such as Whataburger (a once Texas company, now owned by an investment firm in Chicago) to offer the Dr Pepper shake — which is essentially the same thing as this Blue Bell flavor.

“Our Texas heritage is so important to us at Dr Pepper, and we are excited to team up with fellow Texas-born brand, Blue Bell, to create this new delicious treat,” shared John Alvarado, senior vice president of Dr Pepper brand marketing.

Blue Bell recently made headlines after its former CEO Paul Kruse pled guilty to a misdemeanor and was ordered to pay a $100,000 fine for his part in the 2015 listeria outbreak that resulted in the deaths of three people, according to the Wall Street Journal.
