Blue Dragon Taekwondo students complete belt tests
May 28—Blue Dragon Taekwondo students completed the second of the school's four belt tests on May 8.
Requirements for moving from one belt to another includes the demonstration of abilities to complete forms and break boards.
Beginning with yellow belts, students are required to demonstrate sparring techniques as well as their knowledge of Taekwondo Korean terminology.
Below is the list of students and their new belt levels.
Students begin with a white belt, followed by low yellow, high yellow, low green, high green, low blue, high blue, low red, high red, and Black Belt.
Black belt ranks go from first degree — ninth degree. Tenth degree back belts are traditionally reserved to be given posthumously.
Low Yellow: Wesley Hooper, Breanna Paris, Dylan Benshoff, Seth Norris, Gavin Taylor, Marek McCall, Makayla Goutierrez, Deago Williams, Liam Salazar, Aiden Salazar, Tyler Messer and Penelope Godfrey.
High Yellow: Sol Sutton, Sawyer Byers, Jalene Hooper-Byers, Jackson Saunders, Samuel Smith, Winston Moore, Finn Tymon and Lennja Altman.
Low Green: Lenny Milner, Gage Milner, Brentley Fox, Charlotte Barden, Raylan Messer, Kayleigh Lewis, Ali Neiswonger, Jones Davis, Isreal Davis and Sean Aaron.
High Green: Leo Martinez, Aadai Martinez, Archer Metzger, Elliott Metzger, Danny Trevino, Amy Lynn, Hunter Penley, Conner Wright, Ian Hatherlee, Parker Hatherlee, Heather McFeeters, Cory Robinson, Charlotte Barden, Jones Davis, Sean Aaron, D'Anna Potts, Clara Potts and Corbin Potts
Low Blue: Lawson Payne, Jason Cooke, Violet Kinney, Tristan McFeeters, Sara McFeeters, Leo Martinez and Aadai Martinez.
High Blue: Joshua Stiles, Asher Toler and Cole Askew.
Low Red: Gabe Pate and Indigo Kinney.
High Red: Raquel Galindo, Jorge Galindo, Joey Cox and Hunter Davis.
Second Elimination towards Black Belt test in November, 2022: Raquel Galindo, Jorge Galindo, Hannah Mohr, Danny Clarke, Alazay Rose, Eliza Lynn, Isaac Vivanco, Aaron Stepp, Asber Cosme, Jimi Rogerson, KoKo DeParis, Joey Cox and Hunter Davis.
Second Elimination towards second degree Black Belt in November, 2023: Elijah Mehaffey, Matthew Rogerson, Archer Hill, Beth Rodgers, Ralph Bruce, Jr., Asher Underwood and Randy Lynn.
Sixth Elimination towards second degree Black Beth in November, 2022: Jasmine Porter and Holly Porter.
Blue Dragon Taekwondo owner and teacher, Marshall Hale, is a fifth degree black belt and has practiced and studied traditional Korean Taekwondo for over 40 years.
