Blue Jays celebrate Raptors win with banner and logo in Rogers Centre

More than a million people were feeling the Toronto Raptors celebration vibe on Monday, as fans flooded the streets downtown to wave and party with the NBA champions as they slowly made their way through in a parade.

Structures were climbed and flags were waved as the team passed by, resulting in a party the likes of which the city had never seen.

When the party dissipated and everybody made their way home, there was another sports franchise gearing up to play a game in the evening, and they figured why not join the fun?

The Toronto Blue Jays rolled out a “We The North” banner below the centre field fan deck, making their own nod to the team still spraying champagne all over the downtown core.

The team added another accommodation to the usual proceedings to mark the event, putting a Raptors logo in the dirt of the mound. As the Raptors’ week of celebratory shenanigans continues on, it’s a safe bet that one or two of the members of the team will be throwing out a first pitch from that mound before long.

As long as they can plan a commute that gets them there on time, of course.
