Blue Jays designate RHP Kingham, add LHP Pannone

The Toronto Blue Jays designated right-hander Nick Kingham for assignment to open a roster spot for left-hander Thomas Pannone, who started Thursday's game against the Boston Red Sox.

It is the second time Kingham has been designated for assignment this season. The 27-year old was 2-1 with a 3.50 ERA in 10 games for the Blue Jays after he was acquired for cash considerations following a DFA by the Pittsburgh Pirates in June. He was 1-1 with a 9.87 ERA for the Pirates in 14 games earlier this season.

Pannone, 25, was 2-3 with a 6.18 ERA in 24 appearances (two starts) for the Blue Jays earlier this season. He is 6-4 in 36 games (eight starts) for the Blue Jays over the past two seasons.
