Blue Jays Roundup: Basketball gets clean sweep over Williston

Jan. 7—JAMESTOWN — It has to feel pretty good when you have a 45-point lead at the half.

But it feels even better when you have a 66-point lead at the end of the game.

Andy Skunberg helped to guide the Jamestown High School girls basketball team to a 92-26 win over Williston Friday night at Jerry Meyer Arena. The Jays improved to 2-3 in the West Region and are now split at 3-3 overall.

The Jays will be back in action on Saturday with a conference match-up against Dickinson. The game is scheduled to tip off at 3:30 p.m. The boys game is scheduled to follow at 5:30 p.m.

Jamestown didn't have anyone score more than 18 points but the Jays did have four in double-digits and had all but two score at least two points.

Breanna Oettle's 18 points led the way for the Jays. The senior was 50% from 3-point range and netted 12 from the floor. She also had five steals.

Ella Falk added 16 more points to her ever-growing total and dished out a team-high of four assists. Falk nabbed nine total rebounds — eight of which came on the defensive side of the ball.

As a team, the Jays only had nine fouls.
