Lloyd got what he asked for Tuesday in Mandan.

The Blue Jays battled for the entire 36 minutes against the No. 2 ranked Braves but came up just shy in a 64-59 loss. The loss puts the Jays at 3-4 in the WDA. Jamestown is scheduled to end the week with a home tilt against Watford City on Saturday. Play is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.

"We played against a top team in the WDA and went toe-to-toe with them in their own gym," Lloyd said.

During the first half of play, Jamestown jumped out to an early lead before Karsyn Jablonski took over, scoring 17 points for the Braves. Down by 13 with about five minutes left in the opening half, the Jays worked their way to a 35-31 advantage heading into the break.

Both teams came out hungry in the second half but it proved tough for Jamestown to keep the lead when shots wouldn't fall.

Jablonski was the game's leading scorer with 19 points. Ryan Larson led Jamestown with 16, 11 of which came in the second half. Caydann Cox found his rhythm Tuesday night, finishing the night with 10 points.

"I'm really proud of the way we bounced back from Saturday's game.but we still need to get better defensively and have better decision-making at crucial time periods and stop having self-inflicted turnovers."
