Blue Jays Roundup: Golf places eighth in Mandan

May 16—MANDAN — The Jamestown High School boys golf team competed at the Mandan Invite on May 16.

Easton Romsdal led the Blue Jays, carding an 81 while fellow senior Andrew Walz was not too far behind with an 83. Hunter Gegelman and Luke LeFevre finished the course at a 15-over 87 while Camron Andersen shot an 88. Jace Dillman rounded out the Jays' lineup with a 94.

As a team, the Jays shot 338, good enough to place them eighth out of 11 competing teams. Minot won the affair carding a team score of 300.

Head coach Shawn Taft and his squad are set to host the Jamestown Invite on Friday. Golfers are slated to tee off at 10 a.m. at the Jamestown Country Club.

The Jamestown High School soccer team lost 3-0 to Minot on Tuesday. Stats were not available when the Jamestown Sun went to press.

The loss signaled the end of the regular season for the Jays. The 2023 West Region tournament is scheduled to kick off on May 23. As of May 16, seedings are still to be determined.

The JHS tennis squad fell 9-0 to Mandan Tuesday. The team will be on the road at Bismarck St. Mary's on Thursday. First serves are scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
