New blue signs debut at Walt Disney World

Drivers traversing Osceola Parkway on their way to Walt Disney World, may notice something a little different.

As part of the aesthetic changes happening around the resort, brand-new blue signs, which match the deep blue that has been associated with the resort’s 50th-anniversary celebration, have been installed on the roadway, replacing the former purple and red signs that were erected in the 1990s.

In addition to having an updated color scheme, these blue signs also feature directions to the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel experience (which is opening in just a few weeks on March 1), and the newly recapitalized EPCOT stylization.

Because there are more than 1,000 signs across the resort’s property, changing all of the iconic purple-and-red signage will likely take some time, but expect to see more blue signs pop up in the near future as Disney continues to modernize and re-imagine the look of Walt Disney World during its 50th-anniversary celebration.
