The Blue Water Community Food Depot was damaged Monday morning after a vehicle hit the building.

Port Huron Police Officer Zack Washkevich said a vehicle was northbound on 10th Street when the driver lost control due to icy and snowy road conditions and hit the building.

Port Huron Fire Department Capt. Chris Shattuck said the crash happened shortly after 7:30 a.m.

The corner of the building had damage to two windows and damage to the cinder block and stucco work, Port Huron Chief Building Inspector Marvin Shagena said.

There were no injuries.

Bill Heinen, vice president of the St. Vincent De Paul Society, which operates the food depot, said the depot will be open for its normal business hours of 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Heinen said insurance will help pay for repairs on the building.
