Bluefield, WV Police Department releases new bench warrant list

BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) — On February 14, 2024, the Bluefield West Virginia Police Department released a new bench warrant list.

The bench warrants were released by the Bluefield City Municipal Court, and the individuals on the list could be wanted for a variety of reasons aside from traffic tickets, such as obstructing an officer, assault, destruction of property, DUI, prostitution, drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and/or other offenses.

According to the Police Department, the people on the list can go to the Bluefield City Police Department and turn themselves in. Once the person turns themselves in they will be processed through the jail and be given a bond amount, and if bond is made the person will be released and will get a future court date. Individuals with show cause warrants can pay the fine at the Bluefield City Police Department and then the warrant will be dismissed.

The people on the list are believed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and have had prior convictions of crimes charged through the City of Bluefield.

If anyone knows where a person on the warrant list is, they can message the Bluefield, WV Police Department Facebook Page, or call the Police Department at 304-327-6101, option 1 with any information so the Police Department can retrieve them or have the person picked up by another law enforcement agency.
