MARSHALL — Blues, brews and food will take center stage in downtown Marshall June 24 with the return of Marshall Blues Fest.

The 18th annual rain-or-shine event will feature a family-oriented music and entertainment presented by the Marshall Downtown Development Authority.

There's no cost to attend and enjoy the full slate of blues music. Snacks, drinks and merchandise will be available for purchase and free parking will be available in parking lots on Green and Mansion streets.

Music is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and festival headliner the Marc Stone Band will bring the night to a close with a set from 9 to 11 p.m.

The full lineup up of performers is as follows:

  • 3 p.m., Dann the Band featuring Chester

  • 5 p.m., Fat Animals

  • 7 p.m., Who Dat? Blues Band

  • 9 p.m., Marc Stone Band

Between main stage acts, Tony Thompson & Friends will perform inside the cash-bar beer tent, which will offer beverages from Dark Horse Brewing Co. and Alliance Beverage Distributing, including Heineken, Guinness, Ranch Water and Smirnoff products.

Chairs or blankets are encouraged for sitting on Michigan Avenue to enjoy the bands, and tables and chairs will be provided inside the beer tent. Food trucks and vendors are expected to line the street, organizers said.

Because of state laws for special events, Marshall’s social district will not be in effect during the event. However, alcoholic beverages may be purchased and consumed in the beer tent or within any of the community’s local bars and restaurants.

Event sponsors include Oaklawn Medical Group, Eaton Corp., The Ford Fund, Walbridge Construction, Hoffman Bros. Excavating and Iafrate Construction, among others.
