Blues & Ribfest in Canal Winchester this weekend, Carroll Festival upcoming

Blues & Ribfest returns to historic downtown Canal Winchester on Friday, July 29 and Saturday, July 30. The festival is a two-day summer street celebration featuring live blues music, world-class ribs, a wide variety of quality non-rib food options, children's activities, fan-cooled dining areas, and a beer & wine garden for our Blues/Rib-loving guests 21 and over.

Residents and visitors should be prepared for increased traffic in addition to road closures/detours beginning Friday morning. The full schedule of closures is listed below, along with a link for more information on the festival. All restrictions will be lifted by 9:00 AM on Sunday, July 31.

The city has imposed the following traffic restriction:

  • No parking - Effective at 5 a.m. Friday, July 29, along Waterloo St. between Elm and Trine, and along High St. between Mound and Columbus

Road Closures: Beginning Friday, July 29

  • South High St. between Waterloo and Columbus - Close to traffic at 6:00 AM

  • North High St. between Waterloo and Mound - Close to traffic at 8:30 AM

  • Waterloo St. between Trine and Elm - Close to traffic at 9:00 AM

Carroll Festival

The Carroll Community Festival (CCF) is back for a two-day event starting on Friday, Aug. 12.

The festival begins Friday at 5 p.m. with opening ceremonies followed by the Carroll Festival Beauty Pageant and HillBilly Deluxe taking the stage at 7p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 13, the day begins with the CCF parade at 10 a.m., followed by the finale of the pageant. The Herb Walter Memorial Pie contest, Charity softball game and the CCF Old Car show will also occur that day.

Local band Kauffman Road will take the stage at 1pm and kids/teens games begin at 3 p.m.

There will be a guided historical walking tour through the village at 2 p.m. DJ Mark Hall will take the stage at 6 p.m. and the final act of the festival, The Stagger Lee Band, begins at 7p.m.

Athletic Boosters

The Bloom-Carroll Athletic Boosters will have its annual Booster Drive on the morning of Aug. 6.

Student-athletes will be going throughout the district, asking for donations to help fund booster operations for the upcoming year. The money will go toward uniforms, equipment and other booster expenses.

Anyone who may be away that morning and would still like to contribute, donations will be accepted at Bloom-Carroll Middle School or can be mailed to the boosters at P.O. Box 467, Carroll.
