It was the second robbery of a BMO Harris branch in Naperville in less than two years.

On Sept. 20, 2021, a man went into the 1795 S. Washington St. bank about 10:25 a.m., handed the teller a note and a white garbage bag, and left with cash. Once outside, he jumped a nearby fence and ran into the nearby residential neighborhood, the police report said.

That robbery occurred one day after a Fifth-Third Bank at 2644 Showplace Drive on the the city’s far south side was robbed. In that incident, the man was armed and also fled on foot, reports said.
