STORY: BMW has announced plans to ramp up

EV production in South Carolina

The company says it will invest

$1 billion in its Spartanburg plant

to prepare it for EV production

$700 million will go to a new high-voltage

battery assembly facility in Woodruff

That will create at least 300 new jobs

It's the largest single investment in both

BMW and South Carolina's history

The German automaker plans to build at least

six fully electric models in the U.S. by 2030
