Nick Kyrgios and Americans Jack Sock and Sam Querrey have been awarded main draw wild card entries to the 2022 BNP Paribas Open. The three are the final big-name additions to a group of wild cards that already includes Grand Slam champions Naomi Osaka, Andy Murray and Sofia Kenin.

The Indian Wells tournament starts Monday and will run until March 20.

Friday’s wild card announcement also officially confirms that Serena and Venus Williams will not play at the event. The American sisters, each of whom are not ranked high enough to automatically qualify for the main draw, are typically among the biggest draws at Indian Wells. The event was their home tournament growing up in Southern California.

Other wild card entries include 20-year-old Emma Navarro, who won the 2021 NCAA Division I women’s singles title as a freshman at the University of Virginia. Joining Navarro are fellow Americans Claire Liu, Hailey Baptiste, Katie Volynets, Elvina Kalieva and 2021 U.S. Open girls’ singles and doubles champion Robin Montgomery.

Americans Brandon Holt, Emilio Nava, Sebastian Sec and 2022 Australian Open Boys singles and doubles champion Bruno Kuzuhara along with 17-year-old Chinese junior Shang Juncheng have also received wild cards into the men’s qualifying draw.

Australia’s Kyrgios, 26, is currently ranked 134th in the world. He’s been ranked as high as 13th. He last played at Indian Wells in 2019, when he lost in his first match to Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets.

Sock, 29, is ranked 130th. The American has had a quite a bit of success at Indian Wells, winning doubles titles in 2015 and 2018, with Vasek Pospisil and John Isner, and reaching the semifinals in men’s singles in 2017. He played at the 2021 BNP Paribas Open in October but lost in his first match versus Australian John Millman.

Querrey, 34, is ranked 115th. He's won 10 ATP titles in his career and is typically among the fan favorites at Indian Wells.
