A pair of top 50 American men will face off inside Stadium 1 to kick off Day 3 of the 2023 BNP Paribas Open.

John Isner, who ranks 39th, and Brandon Nakashima, who is ranked 48th, will square off in a matchup of the future of American men's tennis versus its past. Isner, 37, has been the top American player in the men's game for several years and Nakashima, a 21-year-old San Diego native, is among America's brightest young stars.

The two will be Wednesday's second match on Stadium Court. In the third match, two American women will provide another intriguing matchup. Shelby Rogers, 30, will face Katie Volynets, 21, in a similar showdown between an established American star and an up-and-comer. Rogers is ranked 41st and Volynets, a Walnut Creek native, is ranked 74th.
