ROCHESTER — Meredith Village Savings Bank was honored as the 2023 Business of the Year by the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce during Wednesday’s Sunset Wine & Dine Annual Awards Celebration held at The Oaks in Somersworth.

The Business of the Year award recognizes a chamber member business that has demonstrated excellence in their business and has made substantial contributions to its industry and to the Rochester area.

“MVSB has gone above and beyond supporting our local nonprofits, businesses and community development projects and we are proud to present them with this award,” said Laura Ring, Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce President & CEO. “Members of the team at our local branch have become very involved in the community and are wonderful to work with. Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce decorates downtown with American flags

DOVER – The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce and a group of volunteers decorated downtown Dover with American flags on Thursday, May 25. Overseen by the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce’s Community Events Manager Hope Anderson, the group was able to hang 50 flags in the downtown area.

The hanging of the flags was made possible thanks to volunteers from Breezeline, the Rotary Club of Dover, the Woodman Museum, M&T Bank, the American Legion Dover Post, and Straightforward Financial Group.

The funding for the flags comes from the Chamber’s annual Festival of Trees holiday event. This fundraising event features 30 trees elaborately decorated by local businesses and organizations to be auctioned and raffled off.

Bank of America expands down payment assistance in New Hampshire

MANCHESTER – As part of its $15 billion Community Homeownership Commitment, Bank of America has expanded its Down Payment Grant program to prospective New Hampshire homebuyers in Rockingham and Strafford Counties to help more people prepare for homeownership now and in the future. The Down Payment Grant provides eligible homebuyers 3% of the home purchase price up to $10,000 (whichever is less) towards a down payment with no repayment required.

Launched in 2019 and expanded to a $15 billion commitment in 2021, the Bank of America Community Homeownership Commitment® was designed to help low- to moderate-income homebuyers across the country begin to build their personal wealth and family legacy through the power of homeownership. It provides resources and solutions to make homeownership more affordable and sustainable, including low down payment mortgages; industry leading down payment and closing cost grants; and financial education tools.

In addition to the Down Payment Grant, Bank of America also offers up to $7,500 in grant assistance for nonrecurring closing costs through the America’s Home Grant®, available in Cheshire, Grafton, Hillsborough, Merrimack, Rockingham, Strafford, and Sullivan Counties. When the Bank of America Down Payment Grant and the America’s Home Grant® are used together, eligible homebuyers in New Hampshire may be eligible to receive up to $17,500 in combined down payment and closing cost grants, which do not need to be repaid, to help them purchase a home.

Dover Chamber welcomed five new members in May
