Boat crash in Miami-Dade’s Biscayne Bay leaves 3 injured, according to reports
Three people were airlifted to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon after a boat crashed in Biscayne Bay, according to reports.
The victims were flown to Jackson South Medical Center, reported CBS News Miami, Miami Herald’s news partner. Their condition wasn’t immediately known.
Around 2:45 p.m., rescuers were called after receiving reports of a boating incident near Black Point Marina, 24775 SW 87th Ave., the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department told CBS News Miami. WSVN 7 News said it happened about 2.5 miles northeast of the marina.
Local 10 News reported seeing Miami-Dade police marine officers performing CPR on one of the victims. Footage from CBS News Miami showed a partially sunken, damaged boat and floating debris.
First responders took the victims to Black Point Marina, where they were airlifted to the hospital, Local 10 News said.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating what caused the crash.
