On Sunday, a group of eight people and one dog boating on Allatoona Lake flipped into the water as their boat became overloaded.
Video from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division showed authorities rescuing each person in the water, going one by one, starting with a young child, who was sobbing upon being saved.
Game Warden Steven Martinez and Cpl. Tyler Lewis responded quickly, throwing flotation devices to those struggling in the water.
“They were able to quickly get to the boat and began throwing flotation to the people in the water and began getting them onto their boat,” the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division said in a Facebook post.
“This video shows the importance of always having a life jacket on as well as having a throwable life jacket readily available. We are thankful all occupants were rescued without injury.”
