Boat washes ashore at popular dog beach

SAN DIEGO — A boat washed ashore at Dog Beach Ocean Beach Friday morning, a spokesperson with San Diego Fire-Rescue Department confirmed to FOX 5.

San Diego Lifeguards were notified of an unoccupied vessel in the sand around 5:45 a.m., promoting a response from lifeguards in Ocean Beach.

A 19-foot vessel was located at the popular dog beach, and the spokesperson said three fuel barrels and floatation devices were also found onboard the washed up boat.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has been notified of the incident. No further information was immediately available.
