Former Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Bob Huggins, who completed his 15th season as the West Virginia Mountaineers' head coach, is among Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2022 inductees, the Hall of Fame announced in April.

Earlier this week, @hoophall tweeted that Huggins selected Jerry West and Rod Thorn to present for Huggins during his Sept. 10 enshrinement:

From @hoophall via Twitter in April:

The Class of 2022 also includes Manu Ginobili, Tim Hardaway, George Karl, Hugh Evans, Lindsay Whalen, Swin Cash, Marianne Stanley, Lou Hudson, Larry Costello, Del Harris, Theresa Shank-Grentz and Radivoj Korac.

Finalists for consideration for election to the Class of 2022 were announced in New Orleans on Saturday at the NCAA Men's Final Four.

Huggins, 68, agreed in Aug. 2021 to a two-year contract extension as WVU's head coach that includes an option to step aside or continue after the 2023-24 season.

Huggins ranks eighth in wins among coaches at Div. I programs with 845. Including wins as a head coach at NAIA Walsh from 1980 to 1983, his total is 916. His 900th career win came in WVU's NCAA Tournament first-round victory last March.

Huggins told The Enquirer last June that he has no plans to retire anytime soon.

In March 2021, Huggins was not among nine players and five coaches announced as finalists for consideration for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2021.

Huggins' record at UC from 1989 to 2005 was 399-127.
