Boban Marjanovic may or may not be decapitated by a book in 'John Wick 3'

It is not at all surprising that the makers of “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum” cast a 7-foot-3 Serbian dude as a character known only as Assassin. It is still pretty rad to see that said 7-foot-3 Serb is Los Angeles Clippers center Boban Marjanovic, noted gigantic-hands haver and flat-footed dunker.

We have been wowed by his on-screen charisma before in “The Bobi + Tobi Show,” but nothing could prepare us for our beloved Boban karate-kicking John Wick in a library, only to be decapitated by a book, because John Wick is exceptional at killing people in all manners mere mortals cannot conceive.

It is but a mere moment in the full trailer of the series’ third installment, released Thursday:

But what a moment it is. The John Wick producers must have seen Boban’s previous work as a henchman in “Scare The Living Daylights Out Of Tyler Hansborough,” which is an NBA films classic:

The Best Supporting Actor field is similarly scared after seeing a glimpse of Boban’s work in Wick 3.

Delivering a classic “get decapitated by a library book” was not the work of an amateur, says Boban:

Boban has previously called costar Keanu Reeves his “favorite actor.” “I got to shake his hand,” he told The Ringer’s Paolo Uggetti earlier this season. What a handshake that must have been.
