The woman pictured on the 1970 “Woodstock” concert album died Saturday, according to the man holding her in a raggedy blanket amid a field of hippies in the iconic photo.

Nick Ercoline announced Monday that Bobbi Ercoline will be buried Saturday, just 40 minutes from the Bethel, N.Y., property where musicians including Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Janis Joplin and Jefferson Airplane made history in August 1969.

“It’s with beyond great sadness that I tell my FB family and friends, that after 54 years of life together, of the death of my beautiful wife, Bobbi, last night surrounded by her family,” Ercolne shared on Facebook. “She didn’t deserve this past years [sic] nightmare, but she isn’t suffering from the physical pain anymore and that brings some comfort to us.”

Her final days were spent in home hospice care, he said. The pair had been dating for three months when they trekked to the era-defining music festival, according to AARP. They were both 20 years old at the time. In 1971, they married.

“I feel fortunate that we’re part of such an historic event,” Bobbi Ercoline told the magazine for older adults in 2019. “The farther we get away from Woodstock, the more we realize how significant it was and what a big impact it had. It’s part of who we are.”

She said the blanket on the album cover was something they found en route to Woodstock. The Ercolines said they had no idea they’d been photographed until the three-album recording hit record stores.

Bobbi Ercoline, 73, spent her life working as a school nurse.
