The Arizona State basketball team entered the Pac-12 men's basketball tournament with optimism for a lengthy run.

It left it with a lot of questions after squandering a 14-point lead with three minutes left in the first game of the tourney.

That loss, a 71-70 setback vs. Stanford, has some people once again questioning Bobby Hurley's status as coach of the Sun Devils.

They took to Twitter to share their thoughts in the aftermath of the ending of ASU's season, a season in which Arizona State went 14-17 overall.

Is Hurley on the hot seat as the ASU coach? Should he be?

Bobby Hurley's ASU basketball team suffered a very tough loss to Stanford in the Pac-12 Tournament. That loss has led to renewed calls for him to be fired.

Hurley is 118-100 at ASU, with two NCAA Tournament appearances and one win in the NCAA Tournament. He is 60-69 in Pac-12 conference play.

ASU athletic director Ray Anderson recently gave Hurley a vote of confidence.

Would ASU really consider moving on from Hurley?

The Arizona Daily Star's Greg Hansen explained why the ASU coach's job was safe -- for now.

"Why is no one talking about Hurley’s job?" Hansen wrote. "The best guess is because of his Duke pedigree and identity within college basketball. For the first time since Bill Frieder left ASU in 1995, the Sun Devils have a “name” coach.

"There’s also this: ASU was second in the Pac-12 in average home attendance this season, drawing an average of 7,973 per game. Part of that ranking is because Utah has imploded, Oregon had a clunker of a season and UCLA dealt with COVID-19 audience limits much of the season. But Hurley has no doubt increased interest in ASU basketball. The school’s two largest season attendance averages came on Hurley’s watch: 10.603 in 2017-18 and 10,538 a year later. But after Wednesday’s collapse, ASU’s 14-17 season will all but make next season win-or-else."

How hot do you think Hurley's seat should be as ASU basketball coach now?
