Bode Miller's Wife 'Cried Tears of Hope' Watching Son Learn to Swim Following Daughter's Accidental Drowning
Morgan Beck Miller is getting emotional about her son's first swimming lessons.
On Monday, Morgan took to her Instagram Story to share pics and videos of her 6-month-old son, Easton, learning to swim. The heartbreaking post comes nearly one year after her and husband Bode Miller's 19-month-old daughter, Emmy, died in a tragic drowning accident. The couple also share 4-year-old Nash, while Bode has two children from a previous relationship.
In the pics, little Easton poses in the pool with his swim instructor, whom the couple enlisted through Infant Swimming Resources in Michigan. Following his first day, Easton will have 10 minutes of lessons every weekday to help get him comfortable in the water.
"I cried tears of hope watching my baby boy learn this life saving skill," Morgan captioned a clip of Easton floating on his back as the instructor held his head. "... and then tears of sadness because it was all I had to do to keep my baby girl here."
Easton's swim lessons come nearly three months after Morgan introduced her youngest child to the world on Instagram. The proud mom called Easton "so special" and gushed that he "brought so much healing and hope" to her family's life after Emmy's death.
"Our baby Emmy will never be replaced but man, has this little bundle allowed us to feel a small sense of peace and in a weird way, a connection between the heavens and earth #lifeafterdeath," she wrote.

During an appearance on Today back in November, Bode, 41, opened up about welcoming baby Easton after the tragic death of their daughter.
"If there's one thing that can kind of help to heal and fill that spot in your heart, it's a baby. And he's a special one," Bode, an Olympic skier, said at the time. "Besides the lack of sleep, it's been a really nice process to be able to go through."
