BENTON COUNTY, ARK. - The bodies of a missing father and son, whose kayak was found at Beaver Lake in Benton County in March, have been recovered from the lake, authorities reported Sunday.

Charles "Chuck" Morris V, and his son Charles "Charley" Morris IV, were on spring break when they went missing March 16.

Morris was the drummer for the band Lotus based in Denver. Morris was from Kansas City, Mo.

Diane Morris Mack posted on Facebook Sunday, April 9 that her brother and nephew had been found.

"My brother and nephew are coming home. I can't thank the Benton County Sheriff's Office and all the agencies involved enough," Mack posted.

After 24 days of recovery efforts, the bodies were discovered "thanks to the technology and efforts by all personnel," the Benton County Sheriff's Office reports.

The father and son went missing after going kayaking in the Lost Bridge area of the lake east of Rogers near Lost Bridge Village.

In a Facebook post, The Benton County Sheriff reported assistance from underwater technology came from as far as Tennessee to recover the bodies.

On Thursday, March 16 the Benton County Sheriff’s Office began search efforts for two missing kayakers in the area of S. Lost Bridge Village of Beaver Lake, the sheriff reported.

Mayor Kenneth Paul led the search efforts using resources from across the nation.

On Saturday, efforts were combined with Carroll County and Christian Aid Ministries Search and Rescue Team of Tennessee. Underwater technology was used at depths of more than 180 feet.

"Sheriff Shawn Holloway, along with the family of Chuck and Charley, would like to thank all the men and women who donated their time and efforts to help bring closure to the family and recover the two missing men," the post reads.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office search and recovery unit, marine division, aviation unit, dive team, and K9 Division, Arkansas Game and Fish search and rescue and dive team, Tennessee Christian Aid Ministries, Arkansas Mennonite Disaster Service, Tri-County Search and Rescue, Grassy Knob Fire, Inspiration Fire, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and K9 units out of Illinois, John Blevins, from Oklahoma the Quapaw Nation K9, and from Louisiana the Cajun Coast.

"Our heart goes out to the family of Chuck and Charley Morris and we are thankful today that we can help bring closure," The Benton County Sheriff's post reads.
