Newly-released California Highway Patrol (CHP) body camera footage shows singer Britney Spears being pulled over on two separate occasions in southern California this year.

According to CHP, Spears was first pulled over on September 10 for speeding. When asked for her license, registration, and insurance, Spears said her security team had her documents due to the fact that she had recently arrived back home from overseas.

The officer is heard saying that he has stopped Spears before for speeding.

“I gave you a break last time,” the officer says.

The CHP said the same officer pulled Spears over again on October 6, this time for crossing double-yellow traffic lines.

Spears urgently cited her need to use the bathroom as the reason for breaking the law and expressed remorse.

When the officer requested Spears’ documents, she said, “My security at my house has my passport and my driver’s license. I just flew in from Mexico.”

BRITNEY SPEARS: I'm so sorry.

- You're speeding. Let me get your license, registration, insurance.

BRITNEY SPEARS: My license actually is with my security at home, and I don't have it with me right now at this moment. I'm so sorry. But it's like 10 minutes away.

- Um, you were going 60, and it's like a 45.

BRITNEY SPEARS: I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry. Please forgive me.

- Can I get your re-- can I get your registration, insurance?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Excuse me?

- Registration, insurance.

BRITNEY SPEARS: Oh, I don't know. All my information is at my house.

- OK. Do you have a valid license?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Yes, sir. I just flew in from overseas, so they have-- my security at my house has my--

- I've stopped you before out here for speeding.

BRITNEY SPEARS: Excuse me?

- I stopped you before out here for speeding. I gave you a break last time. All right. Can I get your full name?

BRITNEY SPEARS: My name is Britney Spears.

- Middle?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Jean.

- Date of [MUTED]

BRITNEY SPEARS: [MUTED]

- Do you have a registration in the car?

BRITNEY SPEARS: No, sir. [INAUDIBLE]

- Do you have insurance?

BRITNEY SPEARS: I don't--

- Doesn't your security-- doesn't your security usually follow you?

BRITNEY SPEARS: No, my security is at the house.

- He's at the house, OK. Are you able to have him bring your stuff?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Excuse me?

- Can you have him bring your information?

BRITNEY SPEARS: You mean drive there?

- No, I mean-- no, I don't want to do that.

BRITNEY SPEARS: Um, hi--

- Or he can send you a picture of the insurance.

BRITNEY SPEARS: Can you hear me?

- Yeah.

- Can you still screen and send a picture of my registration and my license, please?

- And insurance.

- Yes.

BRITNEY SPEARS: And what?

- And insurance.

BRITNEY SPEARS: And insurance too to this num-- to my phone so I can show it to this cop.

- OK. Just wait here for me, OK?

Ah, shoot. [INAUDIBLE] Spears.

Yes.

I don't know what kind of address. Oh my God. [MUTED]

- 3101 North.

- What?

BRITNEY SPEARS: There's a picture of my passport but--

- Um--

BRITNEY SPEARS: But this is [INAUDIBLE]. She has all my information.

- OK. Can I get your current address?

BRITNEY SPEARS: OK, here she is. Talk to him right now. He's right here on the phone.

- Yeah, hi. I just need her current address.

- [INAUDIBLE]

- OK. Like her license and stuff and the insurance.

- [INAUDIBLE]

- OK. Yeah, she needs to carry it, and it all needs to be in the vehicle. Do you know the name of the insurance company at least?

- [INAUDIBLE]

- OK. Did you-- and you don't have her license either?

- [INAUDIBLE]

- OK.

- [INAUDIBLE]

- Yeah, it'll have to be afterward. You guys can just show it to the court as proof, OK?

- All right. [INAUDIBLE]

- To the court.

- Can you [INAUDIBLE]?

- Yeah, go ahead. Ms. Spears, can I get your address?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Can you hear me?

- Yeah, I can hear you.

BRITNEY SPEARS: What's--

- Her address [MUTED]

- Is that considered Thousand Oaks?

- Yes.

- And then what's the ZIP code?

- [INAUDIBLE]

- What was it?

- [INAUDIBLE]

- [INAUDIBLE]. OK, cool. All right, just wait here.

All right, Ma'am. So I'm going to write you a fix-it ticket for the license--

BRITNEY SPEARS: OK.

- -- and then not having proof of insurance. I'm guessing you do have insurance, but you need to have it in the vehicle or accessible so if you get in a car crash you can exchange it versus having to try to juggle it back and forth. Just sign in the red box.

By signing, you're not admitting to anything. I'm going to give you a warning for speeding, by the way.

BRITNEY SPEARS: Thank you.

- Just sign in the red box. By signing, you're not admitting anything. You're just promising you're going to take care of it with the court. They should send you a notice to your address. In general, you can just show proof to any law enforcement that you have your license and that you have the insurance. They can sign off on the ticket, and then you talk to the court with how to take care of it. OK?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Thank you.

- Or have your assistant take care of it. Please slow down out here. This is the second time. OK?

BRITNEY SPEARS: [INAUDIBLE]

- There's your copy. You're free to go.

BRITNEY SPEARS: I'm so sorry. I had to tee-tee. My house is right there. I'm so sorry.

- Yeah, you had passed on the double yellows. You can't do that.

BRITNEY SPEARS: I'm so sorry.

- Do you have your license?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Let me see. I just flew in from French Polynesia, a Mexican place.

- OK. I'm trying to-- I'm trying to shade you. Hold on. There we go.

BRITNEY SPEARS: My security at my house has my passport and my driver's license.

- OK.

BRITNEY SPEARS: I just flew in from Mexico.

- OK. You haven't gotten your license yet? I stopped you a few weeks ago, and you were supposed to get your license.

BRITNEY SPEARS: I'm so sorry. Shit. I'm sorry.

- OK. Do you can't pass on the double yellows?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Yes, sir. I'm sorry.

- OK. Yeah, the reason for that is there's private driveways, so--

BRITNEY SPEARS: I'm so sorry. I know that.

- --people are pulling in and out.

BRITNEY SPEARS: I just needed to use the bathroom. My butt-- it's about to come out. I'm so sorry.

- OK. Do you have any, like, photo ID or anything with your name on it? I know who you are, but--

BRITNEY SPEARS: Yes, sir. They have it at my house. I'm so sorry.

- OK. You really got to carry it. Is there a reason why you don't carry it with you?

BRITNEY SPEARS: No. It's because I forgot to take it back from them.

[RADIO CHATTER]

My security holds it because they don't know [INAUDIBLE].

- Yeah.

BRITNEY SPEARS: --to make sure we have it verified here.

- So do they-- like, so you fly into the airport. Right?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Yes, sir.

- And then they take it from you and they take it home?

BRITNEY SPEARS: What they do is, is they-- they're not supposed to [INAUDIBLE]. They kind of have been-- what they do, they take my dogs away the last time I was there.

- At the airport?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Yeah. Well, they want to take it, and they take it to the thing, and they search it and everything. And they never did that before, so my security is very cautious about the passports and everything, and make sure that I'm not taken advantage of when they-- they were really kind of rude the last time I was there.

- Got it.

BRITNEY SPEARS: So that's why.

- Is the registration in the car or anything like that?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Transport.

- What is that? Can I see one of those, please?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Glove compartment-- registration and insurance?

- Is this-- is it registered to you or is it registered to, like, a business? Oh, here we go. Perfect. Hold on a sec.

BRITNEY SPEARS: Do you want this thing?

- OK. Yeah, that works. I don't know if the insurance is in here, though. Hold on. Oh, here we go. Perfect. OK, here. I'm going to give you back this--

BRITNEY SPEARS: Yes, sir.

- --this one.

BRITNEY SPEARS: Thank you.

- Yeah, that one. And then I'm going to hold on to this one just for a minute. And then, just to confirm, you're Miss Spears. Right?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Yes, sir.

- OK. Just wait here for a minute. OK?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Yes, sir.

- I'll be with you in a minute.

[RADIO CHATTER]

[RADIO CHATTER]

[RADIO CHATTER]

- What is this called? TOP International. Oh, jeez.

[RADIO CHATTER]

[RADIO CHATTER]

- Ma'am, here's your-- that information. What's your address out here? Give me your address.

[MUTED]

- OK are you sure? Are you sure that's what it is?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Yes, sir.

- Is that considered Thousand Oaks or is it Newbury Park?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Westlake.

- Oh, Westlake. And the zip code, by any chance?

BRITNEY SPEARS: Sir?

- Do you know the zip code, by any chance? No? OK. I'll look it up real quick.

[RADIO CHATTER]

And just to confirm-- so your license is at your house? Is there a way you can make, like, a photocopy and you could keep it in that same envelope that way. And I promise you, I'm not out here just trying to pull you over.

BRITNEY SPEARS: I'll actually have it next time. Honestly, it's so dumb I don't have it.

- OK. And I understand because you don't want people to, like, try to take it as a souvenir or something, so--

BRITNEY SPEARS: Yes, sir.

- [MUTED]

I just want you to know that I'm not out here trying to pull you over. I'm out here looking for people speeding and passing over the double yellows. OK? I'm just looking up the zip code. 91361. OK, ma'am. So I'm going to be issuing a citation for passing over the double yellows when it's not allowed. Just sign in the red box. By signing, you're not admitting to doing it. All you're doing is promising to take care of the ticket with the court.

BRITNEY SPEARS: Yes, sir.

- I don't know if it'll fit through there. And then I'm going to give you a copy. It should be mailed to your address. So, hopefully that [MUTED] is the correct address. But if not, the court's in Simi Valley. There's some contact information down below. OK? Do you have any questions?

BRITNEY SPEARS: No, sir.

- OK. I'll make sure everything's correct. And then, here you go. You're free to go. Just drive safely. OK?
