TINTON FALLS - A body was found Wednesday at a recycling plant in Tinton Falls, according to authorities.

The body of an adult male was discovered at the Mazza Recycling plant on Shafto Road, according to Chris Swendeman, a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

Brynn Mosello, a spokesperson for Mazza Recycling, said an employee found the body mixed in with recyclables at their material recovery facility in an area where collection trucks from multiple counties dump on site. Police were immediately called to the plant and it was shut down for an investigation.

Mosello said the plant is now open on Thursday.

The prosecutor's office, along with Tinton Falls Police Department, are leading the investigation, which is active and ongoing at this time.
