Body found Friday now identified as missing Sanborn, Minnesota, woman

Oct. 8—REDWOOD FALLS — The Redwood County Sheriff's Office reported that the body found Friday west of Sanborn was that of Jeanine Jackson, 81, of Sanborn, who had been missing September 20.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner identified the body after an individual reported finding a deceased individual west of Sanborn along the Cottonwood River in Charleston Township on Friday around 2:15 p.m., according to the Sheriff's Office.

"The Sheriff's Office would like to thank everyone who assisted in the recent search efforts," the office stated in announcing the identification of the missing woman.

The Redwood County Sheriff's Office had been leading searches in the Sanborn area for Jackson since her disappearance. She has been missing since the morning of Sept. 20 when she took a walk with her dog.

Her dog had been found as week ago on a gravel road southwest of Sanborn, according to previous news media reports. Jackson reportedly suffered from memory issues.
