Body found on Youree Drive believed to be missing woman

A body found Saturday on Youree Drive is believed to be that of an elderly woman reported missing earlier this week.

Daisy Walker is believed to have wandered away from her apartment less than half a mile from where the body was discovered. Her family reported that she suffered from advanced dementia.

Police and Caddo Sheriffs deputies launched an "extensive search, looking in the wooded area and bayou areas, everywhere, but where she was,"said Lt. Matt Prunty.

The search for Walker was suspended at 1 a.m. and was scheduled to resume this morning.

The age and appearance of the body, located in a drain on the Chevyland parking lot, was consistent with Walker’s description; however, positive identification by the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office jas not yet been made.

Accord to Prunty, police do not suspect foul play at this time.
