Body of missing Bloomfield man recovered in Englewood Cliffs

A missing Bloomfield man's body was found near the Rockefeller Lookout in Englewood Cliffs on Sunday, police said.

The unidentified 54-year-old man was reported missing by his brother to Clifton police on Friday, said Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Lt. Raymond Walter. A car registered to the man was found by parkway police at about 5 a.m. Sunday, Walter said.

From there a search began for the missing man, with a helicopter from the New York Police Department, the Bergen County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit and the East Bergen Rappel Team all brought in to assist. After an "extensive search," the man's body was found.

Details on the man's identity and the circumstances of his death were not immediately available. The death remains under investigation, Walter said.
