The body of Christian Dodson, reported missing on Friday, was found at 3:32 p.m. Saturday in an overgrown grassy brush area behind the Dollar General Store at 875 Woodville Road, according to Mansfield police Capt. Shari Roberson.

Mansfield Police officers responded to the scene as well as staff from the Richland County Coroner’s Office. The preliminary investigation does not indicate that foul play was involved.

On Sunday, Tom Stortz, a Richland County coroner's investigator, said the man's death was a suicide.

Robertson said police appreciate all those who assisted in attempting to locate Dodson, including citizens and the volunteers from the Ohio Special Response Team.

Friday, the Mansfield Police Department asked for the public's help in locating the 25-year-old man who hadn't been seen since Thursday morning.

Dodson was last seen at his home on Willowbrook Drive around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. His family had not heard from him since that time.

The family advised Dodson would have left the residence on foot as he did not have a vehicle, nor did he drive. Family members further advised he may have been in possession of a handgun that was also discovered to be missing from the home.
