Boeing Donates $1.1 million to Causes Supporting the AAPI Community

Aerospace manufacturing company Boeing announced on Wednesday that it is donating $1.1 million to organizations fighting anti-Asian hate and groups promoting justice and appreciation for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) culture.

Multiple recipients: Boeing’s donation intends to benefit 17 national projects and local development programs in communities across the U.S., according to its official announcement.

  • Boeing’s executive vice president of Government Operations, Tim Keating, noted that the company “recognizes the challenging issues currently being faced” by the AAPI community.

  • According to Keating, the fundings are part of the company’s commitment to supporting “underserved and marginalized communities.”

  • Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles (AAAJ-LA), an advocacy group that provides legal services and education to members of the AAPI community, will be receiving $200,000 from the initiative.

  • AAAJLA CEO Connie Chung Joe said Boeing’s donation would go to their bystander intervention training, which will “empower allies to safely intervene when they witness an act of harassment so that we can all live in safe neighborhoods free from hate.”
