The Boise State football team made a surprise addition to its 2024 recruiting class one day ahead of National Signing Day.

The Broncos looked like they were done adding to the class after bringing in a strong class of transfers in the past month, highlighted by former USC quarterback Malachi Nelson and wide receiver Chris Marshall, who is the No. 1 junior college recruit in the country, according to 247Sports.

The Broncos made a late addition from the high school ranks on Tuesday when Centennial High linebacker Syncere Brackett-Lambey announced on Instagram that he has committed to Boise State.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound native of Corona, California is a three-star recruit, according to 247Sports. Boise State offered him a scholarship on Jan. 31. Brackett-Lambey has also announced offers from Eastern Washington and Stony Brook on Twitter.

He is the second player from Centennial to commit to the Broncos, following defensive lineman Connor Warkentin, who signed with the program in December.

Brackett-Lambey posted 70 tackles and 4.5 sacks last season at Centennial, according to MaxPreps. As a junior, he racked up 54 tackles and two sacks.

Martineau earns 4th star

Clay Martineau, a linebacker from Oregon City, Oregon, was upgraded to a four-star recruit by 247Sports on Tuesday. He committed to the Broncos in June 2023.

Martineau’s rating from 247Sports increased to 90, making him highest-rated high school recruit in the Broncos’ class. He is the No. 2 recruit in Oregon and the No. 34 linebacker in the country, according to 247Sports. Marshall is the highest-rated recruit in Boise State class with a 93.

The 6-3, 210-pound linebacker was one of 16 high school recruits the Broncos signed on early signing day in December. The Broncos also signed two junior college transfers: pass rusher Joseph Marsh and linebacker Udoka Ezeani. Martineau enrolled at Boise State early and has been on campus since January.

Martineau totaled 107 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks and three interceptions in his final two seasons at Oregon City High, where he also started at wide receiver. His offensive coordinator the past two seasons was former Boise State quarterback Grant Hedrick.
