The highest-rated recruit in Boise State history is back on the open market.
Burley wide receiver Gatlin Bair announced Friday that he was reopening his recruitment and would be focusing on Michigan and Oregon, which were two of his finalists.
“Many elements have changed both at BSU and for myself since my commitment,” he wrote on Twitter.
Boise State’s highest-rated verbal commit in program history has decommitted. He’s probably heading to Michigan to join his buddy Colston Loveland. https://t.co/ViD1Pc18eS

The main change he was referring to at Boise State would be the firing of former coach Andy Avalos, who was let go on Nov. 12.
Bair is a four-star recruit, according to 247Sports, which not only ranks him as the No. 1 recruit in Idaho but the No. 9 wide receiver in the 2024 class. He has scholarship offers from many of the top programs in the country, including Alabama, Georgia and Texas, but whittled his list down to Boise State, Michigan, Oregon, Nebraska and TCU before verbally committing to the Broncos on Aug. 4.
Bair will serve a two-year Latter-day Saints church mission before joining his college team, so he wouldn’t be on the field until 2026 at the earliest.
