Boise State’s series vs. Oregon adjusted. Mountain West announces 2024 football matchups

Boise State’s scheduled football series against Oregon has been adjusted.

Oregon will no longer play at Albertsons Stadium in 2025, but the Ducks will pay Boise State $2.6 million to play in Eugene next season and in 2026, Boise State announced on Thursday.

Boise State is scheduled to travel to Oregon on Sept. 7, 2024. The Broncos open next season on Aug. 31 with a trip to Georgia Southern, which is in Statesboro.

It’s the latest scheduling news to come out of Boise State, which confirmed earlier this week that its series against East Carolina has been canceled. The Broncos were scheduled to play in Greenvillle, North Carolina, in 2026 and host ECU in 2028.

The news of changes to the Oregon series came on the same day that the Mountain West announced its 2024 football matchups.

Boise State will host conference foes Nevada, San Diego State and Utah State, while the Broncos hit the road to face Hawaii, San Jose State, UNLV and Wyoming next season. It will be the first time the Broncos have played at Hawaii since 2020. Dates and times for the games will be announced later.

The Broncos also will host Washington State and Oregon State next season as part of the Mountain West’s scheduling agreement with the last two remnants of the Pac-12. Oregon State was already scheduled to play at Albertsons Stadium on Sept. 7, but now a new date will be announced, according to Boise State. Games against the Cougars and Beavers will not count toward Mountain West standings.

Boise State fell to Oregon State 34-17 in its 2022 season opener, and the Broncos are 4-6 all-time against the Beavers. Boise State is 1-5 against Washington State; the programs haven’t met since 2017.

Boise State is paying Portland State $425,000 to come to Albertsons Stadium on Sept. 21 next year, ensuring the Broncos six home games.
