Boligee man dies, Vance woman injured in Greene County crash

A 69-year-old Boligee man died in a Thursday afternoon crash in Greene County, according to a news release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Lesley V. Carlisle was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash, which involved three vehicles, at around 1:30 p.m. on Alabama Highway 14 about 5 miles west of Eutaw.

Troopers said Carlisle was driving a 1990 Chevrolet 1500 that collided head-on with a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Rhianna M. Smith, 22, of Vance.

Smith was airlifted to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment of her injuries.

After the initial collision, Carlisle's vehicle was struck by a 2017 International tractor-trailer driven by Nicholas L. Bell, 43, of Saltillo, Mississippi, according to troopers.

ALEA released no further information about the crash. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are conducting an investigation.
