Bolingbrook Voter Guide 2020

BOLINGBROOK, IL — With early voting and voting-by-mail numbers expected to reach record levels, many residents are indicating that they're very interested in the upcoming Nov. 3 election. Several mail-in voting drop boxes have been installed around Will County, including one at Bolingbrook Library.

The drop box will be located inside the library, which is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The newly purchased white metal boxes will be clearly marked for voters, a release states. The boxes will be emptied on a daily basis by trained election representatives. All ballots will be immediately transported to the Will County Clerk's Office.

Early voting in Illinois began last month, although early voting in-person in Bolingbrook began on Oct. 19.

In addition to voting on president, some state and local races, voters are being asked to vote on the Graduated Income Tax Amendment.

  • A "yes" vote supports repealing the state's constitutional requirement that the state personal income tax be a flat rate and instead allow the state to enact legislation for a graduated income tax.

  • A "no" vote opposes this constitutional amendment, thus continuing to require that the state personal income tax be a flat rate and prohibit a graduated income tax.
