Bomb blows up bus in Afghanistan, at least 11 dead

Injured by yet another bomb blast in Afghanistan.

A hospital in Kandahar treated dozens of wounded including women and children after a bomb blew up a bus. Officials say at least 11 people were killed.

Ahmad Masood is just a young boy.

He says the bomb exploded just as the vehicle he was in approached a checkpoint, and that many people died.

The roadside bomb exploded late on Sunday and is just the latest in a series of deadly blasts that has come as foreign forces withdraw.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility and Taliban insurgents did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Early on Monday, a blast hit a minibus in a province, just north of the capital, Kabul.

That attack killed at least two people and wounded nine.

Violence has been rising sharply in recent weeks after the U.S. announced it would withdraw all of its troops by September.
