Bomb threat at Fillmore High School under investigation

Authorities responded to a bomb threat at Fillmore High School on Friday morning.

Around 11 a.m. two units from Ventura County Sherriff’s Office arrived to search the campus with assistance from the Ventura and Simi Valley police departments’ K-9 units trained in bomb detection.

The Fillmore Unified School District and the Fillmore Police Department provided support to evacuate students to safety during the investigation.

The search teams found no evidence of a bomb or suspicious items and determined the school to be safe. Students returned to campus for their final period of the day.

As of Saturday afternoon, the investigation was ongoing, said Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Steve Jenkins. No new details were immediately available.
