Bomb threat shortens Windsor Locks school day

Feb. 28—WINDSOR LOCKS — High school students were evacuated Monday and sent home early because of a bomb threat.

According to police, a bomb threat was found written on a bathroom wall in the high school around 8:15 a.m. Monday. The message said the bomb would explode at 2:15 p.m.

School officials evacuated the building and police were brought in to investigate, ultimately determining that the threat was a hoax.

This follows the evacuation of North Street School and South Street School on Feb. 17, after those schools received bomb threats by phone. In those cases, bomb sniffing dogs responded to the schools and did not find any explosives or suspicious packages.

Anyone with information about Monday's threat is asked to contact the police department.
