Police bomb squad members gave the "all clear" after checking on a bomb threat made at Utah Tech University late Tuesday.

Campus police evacuated buildings in the vicinity of the Smith's Computer Center on the university's main St. George campus after dispatchers received a call reporting the threat at about 3 p.m.

The university's social media was updated while the incident occurred, with alerts sent to students and staff with updates on the situation. The buildings were swept by the bomb squad four times and then given the all-clear, according to Jordan Sharp, UT Vice President of Marketing and Communication.

The search took roughly an hour to complete.

“The Utah Tech police and the St. George PD work together so efficiently and effectively and quickly," Sharpe said. "And we're grateful for all of those who keep us safe and look out for the well-being of our students and community."
