Bomb threat to Vermont restaurant originated from Oxford County

Oct. 24—PARIS — A bomb threat called in to a Waterbury, Vermont, restaurant on Friday originated from a landline in Oxford County, according to the Vermont State Police.

According to a statement from the Vermont State Police, the agency is investigating the threat that targeted Zenbarn, a restaurant in Waterbury, which occurred at approximately 7:52 p.m. made by a male caller.

At the time, Zenbarn was hosting a fundraiser for the Vermont Democratic Party and most of the attendees had already left, according to the statement.

Troopers from the Berlin Field Office found no evidence of a suspicious device.

The investigation revealed that the threat was made from a landline in Maine.

The Oxford County Sheriff's Office is working with the Vermont State Police to positively identify the caller. The Sheriff's Office did not return calls and messages seeking comment.
