In September, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony‘s Krayzie Bone was hospitalized due to a health scare. Now, he’s opening up about the ordeal in an Instagram post, which featured a photo of himself sitting in the hospital.

“Just fought for life. Literally for 9 days straight,” he wrote. “And I only won the battle this time because I know Jehovah God was with me every step of the way fighting for me.”

“Never take life for granted enjoy it while have you have it!” his caption continued. “Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers trust me I needed every last one of them – KB.”

According to People, Krayzie Bone went to hospital after coughing up blood due to a bleeding artery in his lung.

Per AllHipHop, the Grammy winner, who has collaborated with artists, including Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, and Fat Joe, was placed on a ventilator after undergoing an operation. TMZ also reported that he needed a second surgery to stop internal bleeding.

In 2016, Krayzie Bone told TMZ that he was diagnosed with sarcoidosis, a health condition related to the “growth of inflammatory cells” that attack the lungs, according to the Mayo Clinic. It’s unclear whether his diagnosis and hospitalization are related.

Fellow Bone Thugs-N-Harmony member Layzie Bone took to Instagram to express his thoughts and well wishes for his friend.

“In this challenging moment, as the immediate and Bone thugs family rallies behind my brother, we humbly ask for a moment of privacy. Our family is facing the unexpected hospitalization of Krayzie Bone with strength, and your prayers are a beacon of hope,” he wrote on Sept. 26.

He concluded his post with, “Soon, we’ll share an update, but for now, let us come together and keep our love and thoughts focused on his recovery. Your support means the world to us, and we truly appreciate your understanding during this time.”
