Bonnie “Prince” Billy and Writer Max Porter Collaborate for New Book
Rough Trade Books has announced its 35th edition: It’s Going to Be a Bright New Day: Would You Rather, with Bonnie Prince Billy, by Lanny author Max Porter. The book, which is available for pre-order, finds Porter playing “Would You Rather” with Will Oldham, asking him questions of preference on subjects like music, cuisine, and more.
“It’s Going to be a Bright New Day: Would You Rather, with Bonnie Prince Billy is Max Porter asking Will Oldham questions,” Rough Trade Books’ description of the book reads. “Will Oldham has to say whether he would rather one thing, or another. Many topics are covered, including music, sex, cuisine, literature and travel. Some people believe that the Would You Rather format is better suited to a long car journey than a pamphlet, but we disagree. It works just fine on the page. More than that, it’s very interesting and occasionally profound.”
Oldham released I Made a Place, his latest album as Bonnie “Prince” Billy, back in 2019.
